What is it that fuels each and every one of us in this world? For me, it is island history. I enjoy sharing stories of growing up on this beautiful island, my time at sea, what interests me now, learning about what interests other people, and sharing it with the world.

Cecil Kern Hyde

I was born in the town of French Harbour on January 16th, 1942. French Harbour is one of several seaside towns on the island of Roatan, one of the three Bay Islands, located 30 miles off the north coast of Honduras in Central America. My father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all born and raised in French Harbour. Through God's providence, I and the generations before me, each had the opportunity to see many places around the world. But nowhere could ever compare to this little spot in the Caribbean sea called "Home."
